Shop Technician Trainee
Business Need / Purpose of Role
The Shop Technician Trainee is new to Weir Oil & Gas, with limited knowledge or experience in the role. This position is expected to assist in assembling, testing and repairing pressure control equipment in alignment with maintenance and safety standards.

Observe the preparation and process of creating a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) and POWRA (Point of Work Risk Assessment) on job site and perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with Weir Oil and Gas SHE policies
Adhere to and exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of Change
Maintain a professional appearance and work attitude at all times
Aim to provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers
Assist with compiling all appropriate documentation in a timely manner in accordance with proper policy, procedure and work instruction
Maintain Weir Oil and Gas company supplied assets and any other equipment as it relates to company policy
Maintain routine housekeeping to eliminate workplace hazards
Demonstrates consistency, accountability, reliability and solid work ethic
Communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Must have the ability to perform independently or in a team setting

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to drive a company vehicle as needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
