Duties and Responsibilities:

Completes feasibility studies by:

a) studying project concepts, objectives, priorities, and requirements

b) conducts site investigations

c) identifies and establishes performance standards

d) prepares construction documents and submittals

Organizes structural engineering design projects by:

a) identifying short-term and long-range issues

b) preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources

Develops structural design plans by:

a) researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying structural engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, standards and criteria

b) adapting and modifying structural mechanics options

c) developing and evaluating new structural architectures and algorithms

d) performing design calculations relating to foundations and structures, loading, structural response, and connection design

e) preparing drawings and visualizations

f) collaborating with related engineering design teams

g) evaluating structural materials and suppliers

h) identifying and resolving design integration issues

i) determining and establishing design specifications and safety standards

Verifies design by:

a) establishing functionality, reliability, maintainability, and durability test standards

b) performing analytical and numerical quantification procedures and visualizations

c) analyzing test data

d) identifying, isolating, and resolving problems

Resolves construction problems related to:

a) structural design

b) coordinating and conferring with construction and production contractors

Documents structural design and maintenance by:

a) recording design features and maintenance requirements, and warnings

b) detailing safety requirements

Complies with codes and regulations by:

a) applying and enforcing adherence to regulations and testing requirements

b) advising management on needed actions

Obtains expert input; reviewing open issues and action items; contributing information and structural engineering analysis to team meetings and reports; guiding CAD technicians with structural engineering issues

Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing structural engineering data and trends

Updates job knowledge by:

a) tracking and understanding emerging structural engineering technologies and practices

b) participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations

c) reading professional publications

d) maintaining personal networks

Review and analysis of new and existing structural and mechanical drawings and designs Coordinates and communicates drawing and structural issues with customers, vendors, and other members of the corporate KSS team

Enhances engineering and organization reputation by:

a) accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

b) exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

All other work realted duties assigned by management

Requirements

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

BS degree in Structural Engineering

Minimum 5 years experience

Clean driving record

Pass drug test

Submit to a background check

Overnight travel – domestic and international, occasional extended stays
