Job Summary:

The Process Engineer develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment and conferring with equipment vendors. You will also develop and maintain detailed work instructions for assigned products/processes. Additional responsibilities include the following:
  • Evaluate and disposition discrepant hardware. Conduct root cause/corrective action investigation using multiple tools; 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, 5D, etc. Implements corrective actions.
  • Perform material flow analysis, cycle time analysis, and value stream mapping.
  • Take a leadership role for Manufacturing Engineering in IPTs.
  • Participate in design for manufacturability efforts from engineering development through new production introduction.
  • Resolve complex manufacturing process issues.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Communicate manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers.
  • Research and evaluate commercially available tools and equipment to support manufacturing activities. Design and procure complex tooling and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Educate and train operators on new and existing processes.
  • Represent manufacturing at change control board to determine impact of proposed changes.
  • Incorporate engineering changes on work in process.

This requisition may be filled at either a Process Engineer (2) or a Principal Process Engineer (3) level

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications Process Engineer (2):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 0 years of experience Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and standards
  • Must have good communication, leadership, interpersonal and customer interfacing skills
  • Must be able to write and deliver presentations
  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of experience Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
