The Principal Process Engineer (Machine Shop) will develop Manufacturing Process and Documentation that ensures production hardware and test articles meet engineering and configuration requirements. In this role, you will also provide analysis and data to support review boards and investigations.

Additional responsibilities include:

Instruct machine operators on technique and operation of manufacturing experience.
Perform observations of manufacturing processes to establish reasonable expectation of daily throughput.
Prepare tooling sheets, create CNC code and assist operations in machine setup and debug.
Participate in tooling design, fact finding, and failure investigations.
Monitor manufacturing processes through review of SPC data.
Prepare process drawings.
Interface regularly with all levels and departments of plant.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering

Minimum of 5 years related experience, to include hands-on machine shop environment.

Previous experience using CAD/CAM software, ACAD, MASTERCAM, Solid Works or NX.

Previous experience with cutting tool selection, fixture design and metal and/or composite material processing.

Able to write and edit CNC programs for both turning and machining centers.

Able to perform CNC machine setup and optimization of processes.

Computer skills must include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Willingness to work off-shift when needed.

Able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
