Responsible for efficient order flow, inventory accuracy, and timely, accurate transactions in the distribution center. This role supports internal customers by providing relevant information, answering questions, and responding to concerns in an efficient and professional manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct the sales order processing staff, including assigning duties, monitoring progress, resolving issues and providing feedback
  • Review of daily distribution orders to ensure the customer’s on-time delivery requirements are staged and met
  • Check records, such as bills, computer printouts, and related documents and correspondence, and converse or correspond with company personnel, such as sales, shipping, engineering, and credit, to obtain facts regarding customer complaint
  • Investigate/research customer complaint to determine origin, resolution and prevention, examining pertinent information
  • Coordinate the supply and release of product with Production Planning to Distribution and coordinate replenishment of agent inventory
  • Research and resolve inventory exceptions, and transactional errors
  • Mitigate handling errors, damaged goods, and other issues
  • Recommend to management improvements in product, packaging, shipping methods, service, or billing methods and procedures to prevent future complaints of similar nature
  • Serve as contact point for sales and distribution for process exceptions
  • Monitor and track sales orders
  • Provide updates regarding order status (hot orders and back orders)
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Supervisory experience and proven ability to develop successful teams

  • Associates Degree in technical- or business-related field or high school diploma/GED with demonstrated experience
  • Skilled in Excel to gather and present data in multiple charts and graphs, maintain appropriate metrics
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving problems
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office products and related computer applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Familiarity with operations of general office equipment to include printers, copiers, faxes, scanners etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in business or technical field

  • Bachelor of Science in business or technical field
  • 3 – 5 years of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing

Role reports to the Site Distribution Manger with dotted-line responsibilities to the Operations/Customer Care Manager.
