-This key production management leadership position manages production personnel, raw materials, equipment and processes. Incumbents follow a rotating continuous operations cycle and provide critical safety, environmental, and emergency response on all shifts.

  • Environmental Health and Safety:
  • Team Leaders are responsible first and foremost for the safety and integrity of the operation. Incumbents are trained in fire safety techniques and responses and serve as either Fire Chiefs or Assistant Fire Chief while on duty. From those roles the Team Leaders lead the sites Fire Brigade in response to emergencies. They also respond to emergency conditions of any nature on the shift and in the area they are serving. Leads all aspects of maintenance environmental health and safety activities including certifications, awareness, behavioral based safety, specialized programs, Crane, Rigging, and lifting safety, compliance with OSHA regulations, incident investigation, and special assignments as needed for the safety and welfare of employees and site assets.
  • Production:
  • The Production Team Leader is responsible for day to day Plant production results. The Leader assists operators with problem resolution operational tactics and facility and equipment maintenance functions including establishment and execution of priorities.
  • Quality:
  • Team Leaders support operators with quality matters including knowledge of yields, identification of off-spec issues while serving as an important liaison between operators and departmental technical resources.
  • Cost:
  • Daily execution of assigning and completing repair and replacement work to maintain plant operational integrity in a cost effective and high quality manner that is satisfactory to internal customers. Accomplished by leading Maintenance Supervisors to drive craft efficiency and accountability.
  • Employee Relations and Administration:
  • Position is responsible for managing hourly compensation, and performance administration including coaching and counseling of employees. Aligns employee goals and objectives with the goals and objectives of the business while setting vision and developmental targets for the day to day production results.
  • Contract Administration:
  • Administers the collective bargaining agreement for all hourly employees, including grievance administration, arbitrations, disciplinary activities, contract negotiations and negotiations preparation and Code of Conduct Administration.
  • Management Team Member:
  • Teams and partners with site management to support other site operations and managers as an integral part of an aligned partnership.
  • Financial Responsibility:
  • Must have a solid financial understanding given budget and cost responsibility within the Silanes/NPD organization.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong personal orientation towards safety of self and others.
  • Uses effective trouble-shooting skills.
  • Able to lead calmly and confidently during upset conditions.
  • Knowledge of chemistry and chemical manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing orientation.
  • Willingness to work a rotating 12 hour shift.
  • Fundamental respect and trust of others.
  • Clear and patient communicator.

Education

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Engineering or Safety Degree preferred.
