We are currently seeking a skilled manual machinist/technician who will perform machine shop services and work with manual lathes, milling machines, vertical mills, drill presses and other machine shop equipment. Our shop technicians are a front-line employee with direct customer contact. Job Description and Essential Duties:
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.
Performs maintenance and repair of all types of machinery.
Places various stock and material into and out of machine and storage areas.
Works from detailed blueprints, templates and sketches. Work could involve difficult machine setups and operations to rough and finish machine work, tools, holders, cutting tools and parts for dies, jigs, fixtures and similar tooling working with precision tolerances.
Uses chucks, clamps, fixtures and other holding devices.
Aligns work to detect and eliminate run out or misalignment using various precision measuring instruments such as scales, micrometers, dial indicators and calipers. Selects speeds, feed and tooling in relationship to the type of material, finish and application. Replaces dulled tools and grinds ordinary tools as necessary.
Selects mounts and balances grinding wheels. Dresses wheels for specific job requirements.
Checks and inspects work to hold close tolerances and insure adherence to specifications.
Performs necessary machine work including dismantling, repairing and reassembling of light and heavy machinery.
Maintain communications with customers with respect to scheduling services and ensuring customers’ satisfaction
Documents all service work for reports and record logs

Possess a strong mechanical aptitude
Minimum of 1 +years of experience
Ability to work on multiple manual machine types
Ability to interpret prints, sketches and verbal descriptions from users
Knowledge of mechanical equipment will be helpful
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and fabrication problems
Ability to work with limited supervision and be able to make decisive decisions
Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
Clean and Professional appearance
Heavy Lifting required
Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and a background check
Most work to be performed in our machine shop facility
While the majority of the work will be Monday through Friday, there is a chance of overnight and weekend work as required by our customers.
