Job Summary

Manage the operation and maintenance of and provide leadership to the Production, and Production Support, department of a power generating facility to provide reliable, efficient and economical electrical service to our customers, in a safe and socially responsible manner.
•Manage and coordinate the daily maintenance and outage activities of the Production, and Production Support, department by effectively using staffing, equipment and supplies, to ensure optimum availability, implement the strategies for compliance with regulatory and company policies, productivity and safe operating performance
•Analyze monthly business reports, provide input to the Business Plan and to the monthly variance explanation
•Perform general leadership and administrative duties including, but not limited to, business plan adherence, employee performance reviews, safety, training and continuous improvement programs
•Set and communicate standards on performance, behavior and professionalism
•Oversee development and maintenance of policies, procedures, emergency plans, alarm responses, etc. and provide technical expertise to ensure exceptional production
•Coordinate the needs of the station with those of the System Operator, T&D, System and Regional Technical Services and Power Generation Fuel Procurement. Provide analysis of problem situations and participate in the decision making/resolution process
•Facilitate effective communications to and within the section to inform employees of changing conditions, support requirements, etc.

Requirements

Minimum of 7+ years of plant maintenance experience (In addition to a preferred Bachelor’s degree) in power generation, utility, or relevant industry. Prior experience in a leadership, supervisory or management role required, preferably in operations or maintenance. Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications


•Electric power generation experience preferred
•Advanced knowledge of power generation station operations and maintenance gained through considerable related work experience
•Working knowledge of labor contract and employee relations policies
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities with a variety of individuals within multiple levels of the organization
•Thorough knowledge of company safety, environmental and regulatory requirements that support federal, state and local laws/rules
•Demonstrated solid leadership skills, skilled in overseeing the work of others, performance and salary management, providing guidance and direction to subordinate staff and managing job and work performance expectations
•Demonstrated strong teamwork skills to include leadership, conflict resolution and decision making
•Ability to address and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Ability to handle constantly changing and emerging priorities
•Ability to effectively supervise a work group through the utilization of appropriate planning, organizing and prioritization skills
•Prepare, maintain and monitor departmental budget with accountability
•Demonstrated business acumen, an understanding of asset management and knowledgeable of practices, trends and policy that can affect the organization
•Skilled in problem resolution and the application of rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems and derive effective solutions or lead subordinates to do regulatory organizations
•Related work experience demonstrating progressive leadership skills and abilities.
