Position Summary: As Group leader, you will work supplementing direction provided by maintenance supervision in accomplishing daily maintenance activities. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of either I&E or shiftmaintenance technicians, including training, ensuring maintenance work orders are completed in an efficient and timely manner; and interfacing with production supervisors and employees in assessing maintenance needs.

Specific Responsibilities: This position is responsible for developing, leading and executing in the following areas:

Maintains appropriate attendance, conduct, and performance levels of the position according to the Group Leader Guidelines
Leads by example each day in key areas – EHS, policies, housekeeping, implementation of SMART processes
Interfaces with vendors and coordinates receiving of spare parts and equipment
Gives work direction and technical assistance to technicians, as needed
Assists in scheduling of equipment for preventive maintenance and repair
Support manufacturing as required
Advises maintenance supervision of employee issues that may require follow-up and/or disciplinary action
Coordinates and/or provides on the job training for maintenance employees
Works overtime hours as necessary

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician at Simonton Ellenboro
Demonstrated working knowledge of all plant systems, utilities and equipment
Demonstrated ability to use CMMS and related programs
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with all departments to achieve goals
Strict Adherence to safety policies and procedures and a commitment to proper operation of plant equipment and quality workmanship
Must be able to be on-call for emergency call outs, as needed
Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed for special projects
Schedule may require short term transfer to any shift for special projects and repairs
Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed for professional development
