Manufacturing Fast Track Program

RCBI’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston or Bridgeport.

The Manufacturing Fast Track Program at the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) allows individuals to update their machining/CNC skills in as little as three months.

The customizable Manufacturing Fast Track Program provides:

  • Up to 40 hours of instruction in computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), manual machining, CNC, or additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
  • Additional online coursework to support the one-on-one instruction

Training is available at RCBI’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston or Bridgeport. Open enrollment – start anytime. Depending on employer schedules these could be a 3-4 month course. Night courses can be scheduled.

Diversity Program is hosting a free workshop to provide guidance to business
owners and contractors on how to do business with Marshall University.

Each year the University buys goods and services totaling
more than $40 million. Marshall University wants to do business with and
increase participation of small, women, veteran, minority, LGBTQ, disabled, and
disadvantaged business owners.

When: November 13th,

This workshop is designed for current and potential vendors
who are interested in doing business with Marshall University. Attendees will

upcoming opportunities.

RCBI will present a SolidWorks Essentials course at its Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Charleston from Nov. 12-14.

Designed for beginners, the SolidWorks Essentials course teaches participants to use the design program to build three-dimensional models of parts and assemblies.

Classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at RCBI, 100 Angus E. Peyton Drive, on the South Charleston campus of Marshall University. The course is $750 and includes a textbook.

Learn how your small

business can take advantage of government contracting opportunities.
Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Veterans
Health Administration will explain how to do business with the Veterans
Administration and how to navigate federal contract databases to find
opportunities. The event is at RCBI Huntington, 1050 Fourth Ave., on Nov. 19
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes lunch.

RCBI will present a one-day workshop for manufacturers who want to improve

the training capabilities of their supervisors. Topics include communicating
effectively, setting goals, and coaching employees.

The workshop is Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at RCBI, 100 Angus E.
Peyton Drive, on the South Charleston campus of Marshall University. The cost
is $50 per person and includes lunch. The event is supported by Apprenticeship
Works at RCBI.

Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
