Manufacturing Fast Track Program

RCBI’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston or Bridgeport.

The Manufacturing Fast Track Program at the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) allows individuals to update their machining/CNC skills in as little as three months.

The customizable Manufacturing Fast Track Program provides:

  • Up to 40 hours of instruction in computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), manual machining, CNC, or additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
  • Additional online coursework to support the one-on-one instruction

Training is available at RCBI’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston or Bridgeport. Open enrollment – start anytime. Depending on employer schedules these could be a 3-4 month course. Night courses can be scheduled.

SolidWorks is a computer-aided design (CAD) program widely used by industry.RCBI’s SolidWorks Essential course teaches students to use the design program to build three-dimensional models of parts and assemblies. Designed for beginners, the course covers general parts modeling and how to make detail drawings of these parts.

The cost of the course is $750 and includes a textbook.

The regular RCBI meetups -which occur the second Tuesday of each month- assemble individuals who are familiar with digital technology to encourage and support newbies who are also interested in creative, fun projects using a combination of talent, tools and Pi technology. Whether you’re already an expert or just curious about programming and use of the ultra-affordable devices, join us at RCBI Huntington (1050 Fourth Avenue) to explore different versions of the Pi hardware and software, and focus on popular uses of the small computers. WV Hive is hosting a Financial Management Boot Camp (for food, beverage, and value-added agriculture businesses), to be conducted in Spring 2019. This Financial Management Boot Camp combines training, one-on-one consulting, and networking, taking small business managers like you out of your day-to-day environment and giving you the tools you need to build a more resilient business.

Four intense, focused days (held at the Beckley Hive) to learn and work on your business.

It’s a business model not a product that determines whether your company makes money. We help you clarify your business model and set you on a realistic path to meet your goals.

Day 2 – Fixing Your Financial Infrastructure (March 27, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00p.m.)

Your financial statements help you and your stakeholders fully understand your business. We help you understand your statements and fix financial systems problems.

Day 3 – Developing Your Financial Plan (April 30, 2019 – 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

You are moving forward, so you need to look forward. We help you develop realistic assumptions for forecasts of sales, marketing and operations and the capital structure you need to get there.

Day 4 – Getting Ready to Raise Money (May 1, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

You will need to raise money to grow your food business. We help you learn how to do a great pitch and properly document your business, so you can successfully raise money.

Special Eligibility Requirements:

1) Business must be food, beverage, or value-added agriculture related.

2) Business must be in WV. Businesses who are WV Hive clients and/or within WV Hive service area will be given priority.

3) Business must have been “open for business” a minimum of four (4) months and have up-to-date quarterly financials that will be used as part of the training.
